Describe the causes and the consequences of the First Carnatic war.
The trouble erupted between France (Pondicherry) and British (Madras) at Arcot in 1746. The French attacked Madras and occupied it under General Dupleix. Nawab Anwar-ud-din declared war against the French but Nawab was defeated.
